Our Guest Reviews

Please take a look at what some of our guests had to say about their stay at Aruba Sunset Beach Studios.

This was our 3rd stay @ Aruba Sunset Beach Studios & it was just as great as our previous stays. JP & Eve are quite accommodating w/ all of our vacation needs. The cleanliness & location of this charming property are superb. If small & friendly accommodations are @ the top of your list, this is the place. We look forward to returning.
We had our first visit to Aruba last week! Sunset Beach Studios was perfect. We rented the Large Ocean View Studio. Clean, comfortable, AC and a great view across the street. We didn't want to do an all-inclusive here because we heard that it was a safe and friendly island, which does mean you have to fend for yourself, but it was easy. Our room had a full kitchen with plenty of pots, plates, cups etc. Great grocery about a mile away. We took a couple dips in the pool out back/ very nice! You can snorkel across the street but you must wear water shoes because of coral and sea urchins hiding. A short drive north and you can choose other beaches. So nice to just pull in wherever you want and check it out. We drove south about 50 minutes to Baby Beach. That was nice and there is a restaurant there. We also went to the beach across from Divi resort. That was beautiful!! I would recommend the Around Aruba Tours UTV ride to see the other desert parts of the island. Sunset Beach Studios was the perfect place to relax and chill away from all the hotels, but just a short drive if you wanted that scene.
We stayed for four nights in the large ocean view room in lovely Aruba. It is the kind of hotel we prefer -- quiet and small, as opposed to the big high rises. Eve went out of our way to make sure we were comfortable. One morning our rental car wouldn't start. We had left the lights on all night. She quickly and cheerfully brought her car around and gave us a jump start and we were on our way for the day. The room was lovely, with a full kitchen and living area, a wonderful porch and a very comfortable bed. We had a couple of nice happy hours around the pool and under the palapa. The grocery store, shops and numerous restaurants are close by but you do need a rent car. No question, I will book the Aruba Sunset Beach Studios again if I'm lucky enough to get back to Aruba.
Wonderful location ... close enough to high-rise area but far enough for peace and tranquility. Very well equipped, full kitchen, clean, great in-house laundry service and very friendly/helpful staff. Will definitely make it our home base in Aruba! Nice outdoor green areas. We stayed in the largest ocean front studio and the sunsets were spectacular right from our terrace. Nice feature with this studio is that it connects with two smaller studios ... perfect for a group/family. No closet but big enough armoir to hang clothes for two with shelves & plenty of drawers. Good snorkeling, palapas, beach just down the street. Great area for walks, jogs, bike riding parallel to ocean/beach. Wonderful stay!
We stayed a week at Sunset Beach Studios in August 2016. The location was perfection with all the amenities necessary. We did use the kitchen to make breakfast and save some $. The views are spectacular along with the service! Suzie was an amazing help! It's still shocking that all the sand was always cleaned out each day! Looking forward to a return trip.
We are on our way home after a delightful first visit to Aruba. Sunset Studios and the staff, Suzie in particular, were instrumental in helping us shape our visit. We were there as non-traditional honeymooners (52 and 50 with 5 kids between us!) We did a good bit of research in choosing our accommodations. We usually do our best to avoid the beaten tourist path, and Sunset Beach Studios looked promising. The location is terrific, for all the reasons others have also mentioned, and the place is beautiful, comfortable, and extraordinarily well-kept. I love the plants, flowers, and shells. The kitchen was fully equipped. When we arrived, they surprised us by having our room (Large Ocean View) outfitted with Dutch honeymoon decorations and a bottle of champagne!!! We were unfortunately a bit late arriving because we were famished after beginning our travel at 2:45 am that day. We didn't realize we would be keeping JP waiting. So sorry, JP! He was an unbelievably good sport and host. After planning flights and where to stay, life got a little crazy, and we didn't get to plan much more. No matter, Suzie patiently and thoroughly asked questions, offered resources, and helped us plan and carry out exactly what we wanted - a view of the island, people, and food without all the pricy, hyped tourist trappings. We are now considering how to save do a family holiday for all 7 of us!!
We enjoyed our little 'Girl Time' vacation so much. Eve & JP were always so helpful. Take the time to eat at Bingo: we had 2 great meals there. Thank you for having such a well equipped kitchen. We were able to do our morning breakfast and lunches with no issues. Proximity to beaches was great. Our favorite was Arashi Beach, just down the road, free parking, chairs to rent $7 and beautiful clear water. Hope to come back someday!!
We found this place online. Great place to avoid the tourist traps. Met some amazing people with similar interest. Great hosts JP and Eef, even watched him win a kite race. Bbq-ing in the moonlight. there is a constant breeze from the back of the rooms which made sleeping without airco possible. We shall surely be back.
We went to Aruba for the Aruba Hi Winds Race. We were lucky enough to find Aruba Sunset Beach Studios. The studio was very nice and really had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We like to make our own breakfast and lunch, then go out for a nice dinner. The owners and all the staff were very pleasant, which just added to the overall experience. The garden and pool area were lovely and well maintained. Location turned out to be ideal, we could walk across the street and watch the races. And great snorkeling spots were minutes away. Would definitely recommend Sunset to anyone looking for an alternative to the high rise hotels!
This is the best choice possible for those wanting to avoid the high rise area. Amazing location, small, quiet, great people. Still close to everything, Sunset across the street each night. Pool and jacuzi, grill, spacious studio rooms. JP and Eve are so nice and helpful. Susie is also wonderful. We enjoyed Boca Catalina beach. The Local Store and Wacky Wahoo for food. Shopped at Super Food daily for making our own meals. Met wonderful travelers staying here. It was a great choice and we recommend it highly to anyone who is a more independent traveler seeking to avoid the masses at the big chain resorts. Had no problems all vacation, Anywhere. Sunset studios is the place to stay!
Had a fabulous fortnight's holiday in June 2016. Aruba Sunset Beach Studios ticked all our boxes. We like to self cater and hire a car. Setting nice and quiet away from the high rise hotels though you can get a taxi no problem. We love to snorkel and Malmok beach is excellent and just up the road. We managed to see turtles there. The studio had basic cooking facilities but combined with the two BBQs provided in the garden/pool area, no problems at all. Even treated my wife to the odd meal out!!! Air con in the studio also came in useful. JP, Eve and Suzie very hospitable. Couldn't do enough to make our stay an enjoyable one. Oh, if you love snorkeling visit Aruba Bob website - fantastic trip.
The location is wonderful, so quiet, you can enjoy every day the sunset from your balcony! The owners are very kind and always ready for help, answer your questions or organize something. I suggest to rent a car. With their contact is very efficient and fast for the pickup and return at the airport. We really loved the location.
The location is terrific: far enough away that you're not bumping into hordes of sun burnt tourists, but right next to the water and a front seat for the sunsets. The room was spacious and clean (how did they get all the sand out? must be magic.) We are scuba divers and avid snorkelers, and Eve gave us great tips on which beaches we should visit. All in all, a fantastic holiday.
We just returned from another relaxing time at Sunset. This trip we had several family members, including our 88 year old mother with us and we all had a great time. The staff are all very helpful, warm and caring. Our studios were very well equipped, homey and beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sunset from our patio. Can't wait to return for our month long stay next November.
This was our second to Sunset Beach Studios, and will likely not be our last. Eve and JP, the owners, are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. The two maids work harder than any maids I have seen. I was talking yesterday with someone who recently went to Aruba and stayed in one of the big high-rises. She said it was a "party scene" and always crazy. She also said the beach was crowded and full of bugs. Sunset Beach is a great alternative. Yes, if the party scene appeals to you, it is close by. However, if you want a quiet, restful vacation, Sunset Beach Studios is perfect. As a bonus, you are near secluded, private beaches where the locals (and some tourists) go. Sunset Beach is the best of both worlds and gives you exactly what you are looking for, no matter what that is.
Genuinely not a fib.... Selling the spare car to hopefully get back to this piece of paradise in November. Our second visit to this establishment, having visited Aruba many times and can safely say this is our most favourite place. Eve, JP and their team are welcoming, warm and so helpful. They truly want for their guests to have the very best time possible. We stay in the Large Garden 1 Studio. Loads of room, everything you could need, effective airco, superbly clean and fantastic views of the ocean from the side veranda. The beach out front is littered with shells and if you pack good sea footwear take a walk out with your snorkel and mask. The most amazing selection of wonderful Caribbean fish and if brave enough the ship wreck there is home to even more delights. This area is lovely and quiet and we always feel totally safe with a night watchman as an added reassurance. Hire a little car and you have easy access to restaurants, bars, beaches, recreation. The choice is near unlimited whilst not encroaching on this area at all. Would love to tell you about the secret snorkeling spots we found but I'm afraid I'd have to kill you !!! Eve and JP will share though so just tell them what you're looking for and they will guide and advise. Really can't wait to go again, the most relaxing and enjoyable 2 weeks. Mmmmm wonder if we could wangle 3 weeks from the employers next time?
The second time we visited Sunset Beach Studios and what a nice place it is. If you look for a more intimate atmosphere compared to the high rise hotels, this is the place to be. Nice studios with all facilities and a great garden with pool, Jacuzzi and relaxing area. Most people use their own little patio for reading, eating, etc and the common facilities if you want to interact with the other guests. I noticed that quiet a lot of them are not one time visitors, but come here every year! And I can see why. Regarding the location, I went windsurfing there multiple times, just by crossing the street at Sunset and taking off right from the beach. Do wear surfing shoes, as it there are sea urchins all over the reef. As it is close (less than one mile) to one of the nicest snorkeling places (Boca Catalina), we went there almost every day (mostly by car). On top of that the personnel and owners are extremely nice and helpful in advising what to do around the island. All in all, we'll be back.
My husband and I stayed in Aruba for a week. We stayed in Garden 9 which had a patio with ocean view. I felt this hotel has a great value. Great Trip! Great hotel ! Great staff! We will be back!
